Black Sheep Harley-Davidsons for Christ was established to support and reach out to the Harley Owners Group in 1999 in response to a growing desire by Harley riding Christians for a way to share their passion for the Lord while riding. Black Sheep chapters are now in more than 30 states and growing.

Where will this ministry go? Only God knows for sure, but with lots of new brothers and sisters joining every week, people are making new friendships that help spread the good news of Christ while strengthening and supporting H.O.G members and chapters along the way. So if you are considering being a part of a ministry where you get to ride, meet Christian brothers and sisters, and be an effective missionary for Gods Word, then Black Sheep may be for you.

Statement of Faith

1. We believe the Bible is the authoritative Word of God.
   




2. We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
   




3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in all of His miracles, in His substitutionary and atoning death through His blood which was shed on the cross, in His bodily resurrection to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in victory and power. JESUS IS LORD!
   




4. We believe that all persons are sinful and lost and in need of salvation and that that salvation comes only through the name of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the cross.
   




5. We believe in the present ministry of God the Holy Spirit; in His convicting, cleansing and empowering work.
   




6. We believe in the resurrection of all persons; that they are resurrected to either eternal life and glory or to eternal damnation.
   




7. We believe in the spiritual unity of all Christians. We are the church, united as the bride of Christ.
   

Our Mission

To introduce Jesus Christ to the world of motorcycle riders, for the purpose of making more and better disciples through the ministry of the local church.

Our Vision

The vision for this ministry is the establishment of a Black Sheep chapter for every H.O.G. chapter to help and support H.O.G. members and chapters throughout the world.

Our Values

We value our personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

We value the Bible as our sole authority for living.

We value relationships with brothers and sisters in the local church.

We value relationships with brothers and sisters in the motorcycle community.

We value deeply those who have yet to receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We value being IN the world but not OF the world.

We value our government and its laws and so we obey them with enthusiasm.

Introduction

* This motorcycle ministry (M/M) will be from this date forward called BLACK SHEEP: Harley-Davidsons for Christ.

* Membership into Black Sheep is open to all Christians from all churches professing Jesus Christ as Lord. (See Statement of Faith for further details.)

* Black Sheep is chartered through the Free Methodist Church of North America.

* All local officers are in a voluntary position for which no remuneration will be paid.

* All local elections shall be decided by a majority vote of the membership. Elections should be held every twelve months.

Motorcycle Ministry Colors

* Our colors are a combination of browns, golds and black; similar to that of Harley Owner's Group.

* Anything with the colors displayed will be sold to and worn only by members (including jewelry, t-shirts and head gear.)

* Colors remain the property of the local chapter and must be surrendered by any member leaving the ministry for any reason.

* Our colors are worn to all official rides and functions. (We encourage you to wear your colors whenever you ride.)

* Colors will never be defended with violence.

* Colors are never to be left unattended on a bike or anywhere else.

* Unlike some clubs, Black Sheep HDFC makes no distinction between male and female with respect to colors being worn or membership status.

* Colors should not be worn while driving or riding in a vehicle. They may, however, be transported and worn later at their destination.

* Black Sheep makes no distinction between men and women in terms of membership, holding office or the wearing of colors.

Patch Etiquette:

Hundreds are now wearing a beautiful brown, black and gold patch. Wear them knowing that when you do, you represent Jesus Christ and hundreds of other Black Sheep members around the country. Let these patches remind you of your Christian witness and attitude on the road.

Be careful to obey all traffic laws (speed). Remain respectful to law enforcement (no matter what). Never drink alcohol while wearing this patch. Be courteous and helpful to all others on the road. Never engage in a “road rage” or angry exchange while riding and wearing your colors.

The large patch will be central on the back of your vest (leather or denim) while the small patch will be worn on the front left shoulder. Other patches (even from other clubs, i.e. H.O.G.) may be worn on your vest but the Black Sheep patches must be prominent and in the proper place. Other pins and patches which do not represent Christ well, (i.e. of a vulgar or sensual nature), must never be worn on this vest.

Do not deviate from the above explanation of patch placements.

Cut out your patch from the fabric about one-quarter to one-half inch away from the stitched border, leaving enough room for the patch to be sewn onto your vest. Vests may be black, brown or denim.

While patches must be worn to all official functions and on all official rides, we encourage you to wear your patches whenever you ride as a witness for Christ and this ministry. They are a highly visible and effective witnessing tool!

The large matching "Jesus Is Lord" patch is not a part of our colors, but is available for an additional fee. It should be worn across the shoulders, above the large back patch.

In the case of the arched/rocker "Jesus is Lord" patch, it also is not a part of our colors - but may be worn above and adjacent to the large patch.

In the case of the arched/rocker "Jesus is Lord" patch or any other patches, it is critical that you always avoid the appearance of a three piece patch (reserved for M/C's)

Remember! Though you have bought and paid for these patches, they remain the property of Black Sheep: Harley-Davidsons for Christ and may be recalled should you ever leave this ministry for any reason. Every patch represents each one of us. The standard of Jesus Christ and His Word, as well as our bylaws will be upheld.

* Annual membership dues are $59 per operator ($49 for a spouse). Colors are $49 per set and one set is mandatory.

New Chapters:

* A new chapter may be formed when

1. …A visionary leader with the necessary time and commitment comes forth
   

1. …A minimum of four members are present who will hold the offices of president, vice- president, secretary, and treasurer.
   

1. …Said chapter has been approved and released by the national office.
   

* Chapters may be developed by one or more of the following scenarios

1. …An existing chapter has grown and is currently challenged by the geographical diversity of its members and therefore a second chapter is born by the mother chapter.
   

1. …If there are members interested in starting a new chapter but are too far removed from any existing chapters
